Choose Whom You Will Follow
Complacent hearts have no place with me. They do not know where their loyalty lies so they ride the fence not taking a side. But this kind of loyalty is unacceptable to me. You are either with me or you are with another. There is only one choice you can make that is either to follow me closely or to go another way.
Do not take for granted all that you have at your disposal, for it may not be there for you much longer and you cannot rely on others to carry you. You must learn to stand on your own two feet and carry on with a stronger faith than you had before. Learn to walk alone with me and know me intimately as you never have before. You’ve seen what others have done but you still aren’t pursuing me as you once did before.
I called you out of darkness into the Light of my Truth and you once pursued me with a passionate love. But time and tide and the circumstances of life have dulled your fire and passion within. Where is your time being spent? Is it on your phone and being in places where my Spirit cannot dwell? Come and dwell with me and regain a beating heart palpitating once again for me.
Where is your loyalty found? Is it in your job or with the people you seek out and call your friends? Where your loyalty lies is where your heart is also and I will not reside with a divided heart. Make concessions in your heart and mind to choose one or the other. Follow me or choose the world. You must love one or the other. A divided heart is of no use to me and I cannot have fellowship with one who does not love me.
Resist the urge to run from me, for there is no place you can go to hide from me. I am with you wherever you go and no place of darkness can ever hide my love for you. I pursue all of my children with a relentless love and they will never be far from me. But choose this day whom you will follow and make a conscious decision of who you want to follow. Your actions tell me of the decision you want to make and they show me where you want to go from here. You can hang your hat here with me or you can hang it on the enemy’s door. The choice is always up to you, but the choice is always yours.
You can choose to make your home with me, but I demand your full attention and loyalty. There is no one foot in and the other foot out, for that is not being a follower of me. You are either with me or with the enemy but I will not tolerate one or the other mentality. Get your head in the game with me and keep your eyes focused on what is most important. There is much work to be accomplished and I desire and want you here with me. You are my child and I desire you more than you can know or understand, but I need you to make a choice on where you stand with me. Will you choose to find and follow me – or will you choose the path of the enemy?
Complacent – marked by self-satisfaction especially when accompanied by unawareness of actual dangers or deficiencies : marked by complacency : SELF-SATISFIED.
Joshua 24:15 New Century Version
15 But if you don’t want to serve the Lord, you must choose for yourselves today whom you will serve. You may serve the gods that your ancestors worshiped when they lived on the other side of the Euphrates River, or you may serve the gods of the Amorites who lived in this land. As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”
1 Peter 2:9 New King James Version
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
James 1:6-8 New Living Translation
6 But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. 7 Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.
John 8:47 The Passion Translation
47If you really knew God, you would listen, receive, and respond with faith to his words. But since you don’t listen and respond to what he says, it proves you don’t belong to him and you have no room for him in your hearts.”
Psalm 139:8 New International Reader’s Version
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there.
If I lie down in the deepest parts of the earth, you are also there.
